an internal phenomenon; self-respect,
dignity (self-worth), integrity, and
self-esteem"
Dr. Laura Schlessinger

“Dare to stand alone”
Thomas S. Monson

Reflection: My personal opinion on this, is it means to be
an individual and stand by what you believe is morally acceptable. It means to
have your own identity and to follow what you personally feel is right, not
what everyone is persuading you to believe in. Most importantly it means to have the courage to stand out on what you believe, and not to sell yourself out to please others.

Forgiveness
Reflection: In
the clip we saw about forgiveness, they spoke about a driver by the name of
Eric Smallridge, who was under the influence and stuck another car and killed 2
women, both named Megan and Lisa. The story goes on where he gets sentenced 22
years in prison, but because of change of heart from Megan’s mothers, Renee,
his sentence got cut short and he was released earlier than anticipated. As a result, Renee and Eric have traveled been
to various high schools to speak about the dangers of drinking and driving. Renee’s
forgiveness not only cut Eric’s sentence short, but it gave them the opportunity
to educate the youth about drinking responsibly and the precautions to take before
causing a fatal tragedy on the road.
